Have you thought about creating videos on LinkedIn but weren’t sure what videos to do well on the platform? Or maybe you’ve posted videos but aren’t consistent because you haven’t gotten any traction on them?  Well, LinkedIn is prioritizing visual content such as videos on the platform and there are a few types of videos that perform well.

Leverage These Videos on LinkedIn to Grow Your Brand | 

Not all videos are created equal.  Depending on the platform, some video performs better than others.  There are two video styles/forms that I recommend to my clients that convert well, get engagement and foster conversation with your audience. The two video forms are Live Video or live streams and short form videos.

Live Video

 

Live Videos are newer to LinkedIn as of 2020 when the pandemic kicked off.  Live Videos are great for connecting with your audience. Live videos encourage conversation amongst your audience which is great for you because you can chat with the live viewers and the replay viewers also provide you with conversation afterwards.

If you have another form of content such as a podcast you can do a weekly live video show that talks about that episode and continues the conversation about the topic.

Short form Video

 

Short form video has been a hit on all of the platforms because there are so many video ideas that you can create to “edutain” your audience.  You can do 60 second videos showing behind the scenes of working with clients, you creating content or sharing your opinion about a trend in your industry. 

Short form videos work well because they are take your audience out of the normal “educational” or “how to” video anticipation and give them a different perspective on any topic you provide.  Short form videos are easier to create because they don’t require a lot of scripting.

Videos on LinkedIn have a minimum two week lifespan on the platform for visibility which means their lifespan is longer than a typical text or carousel post.  By utlizing either style of video you’re sure to stand out on the platform.  Video increases your visibility and brand awareness as well.
